Are there any differences between women’s perfumes and colognes? Here is a brief introduction on what exactly cologne is and how it differs from other types of perfumes. Contrary to popular belief, it is not simply perfume for men—it is actually a type of perfume formulated and created in Cologne. Cologne is a city in Germany that was made famous for its popular, spicy scents specific to the region. Today, however, not all colognes originate from Cologne, Germany. The major difference between regular perfumes and cologne perfume is the amount of oil contained in the fragrance. This is important because the higher the concentration of oil, the longer the fragrance will last. With the economy the way it is, you can save money knowing that you won't need to apply as much.
