The previous reivewer who gave a 1-star rating isn't even talking about this product! He's criticizing a tape measure by the same company, but this electronic device. The thing is pretty cool, once you get used it it, particularly how to change your grip if you are measuring yourself. I prefer it to a tape measure, though it does lack the tape measure's ability to adjust the path used until one gets "widest" or "narrowest" way around the thing being measured, because it is easier to do one-handed. For the price, I'd recommend it. The only problems are (a)buttons are hard to push right, and (b)occaisonally mine "locks up" and emits a beep continuously until you shut it off.

I just received this after breaking Accufitness' analog Myotape product after the fifth actual use. Plastic fob broke off & tape retracted inside of tape casing with no way to get it back out. Anyway, the digital version is totally inaccurate, even if you tried to measure five times & average the measurements you would most likely have a measurement that was way, way off. A cheap old fashioned fabric tape measure is the only way to go ( And believe me I love gadgets )
