Stopping and Smelling the Daisies
So Linda and I went to Macys the other day and played in the perfume section testing out all the different smells. Both of us were drawn to Marc Jacobs. We had tried Marc by Marc Jacobs but I found it too heavy for my taste. But we both became immediate fans of Marc Jacobs Daisy. Not only does it come in a pretty bottle with flowers on the cap but it's a perfect light and fresh scent for the spring. Marc Jacobs Intense is a darker bottle of Daisy. As I had read in a magazine and informed Linda, it's a bit heavier and is intended for going out at night. If you like light and floral scents definitely take a whiff of Marc Jacobs Daisy next time you have the chance! -Justine

The Guerlain House
The House of Guerlain at 42, Rue de Rivoli in Paris, is where Pierre-Francois Pascal Guerlain opened his first boutique in 1828. The House of Guerlain is one of the oldest in all of France and in the world. For over 150 years it remained a family patrimony, until 1994 when the firm was acquired by the LVMH company. The flagship perfume of the House of Guerlain is unquestionably Guerlain Shalimar which was created in 1925 and is still very popular until this day. This perfume is the symbol of romanticism; created as a tribute to the princess Mumtaz Mahal, it is named after the garden in Lahore, the Shalimar Gardens. The success of this voluptuous and sensual perfume can be attributed to its original composition the "Guerlinade" made of vanillin, iris, bergamot- all of which mix together beautifully create a very original oriental scent. Body Spray vs. Perfume
The difference between body spray and perfume is the amount of extracts or essential oils used. Body spray has the least amount of extracts with a 1 to 3 percent extract concentration, which is less than perfume which has about 15 to 40 percent extracts. Having less extracts means the fragrance will not last as long, is less expensive and is lighter in scent than a perfume. Body spray, being less potent, will need to be refreshed every two to three hours, while perfume fragrance can last over five hours. Since body spray is less expensive than a perfume, you can actually afford to use it more and for alternative purposes also. Here are some tips for alternative uses of your body spray: For school age children who want to be introduced to fragrance slowly. Spray on hair to mask food or smoky smells.
