Foundation Brush

Most women worry, and care a lot about their skin. But while buying branded make-up, they give little or no relevance to face brushes. Using brushes made from poor quality materials can lead to rashes, or cause skin irritation. Like any other cosmetic, to get the most out of your foundation, you’ll need to apply it properly. You should begin with clean hands and a clean face; apply a thin layer of moisturizer and primer to set the foundation. The way foundation is applied depends on what type of foundation you use.

Liquid, mousse or cream foundations: There are several ways to apply these types of foundations – with a brush, a sponge or your fingertips.

• Fingertips: Place a small dollop of the foundation on your middle or ring finger; dot the foundation on in small areas on your face and blend outward (do it quickly before it dries). Use a sponge to get rid of any lines. Though fingertip application yields maximum coverage, results can be streaky or uneven if done incorrectly.
• Sponge: Like the fingertip method, dot the foundation on in small sections on your face; use a dampened sponge to blend out.
• Origins foundation brush: To get the foundation on your brush, first put a dollop on the top of your hand, then dip your brush into the foundation (make sure the brush is covered evenly). Start on the inner cheek near your nose; make small, circular swipes from the inside and work your way out. Use the same circular motion to blend again as a finishing touch. Alternatively, you can also start by dotting the foundation on with your fingers or a cotton swap and using the brush to blend.

Loose powder or mineral powder foundation: Use a foundation brush or kabuki brush for best coverage. Tap a small amount of powder to the lid of the jar, swirl your brush in the foundation and tap off the excess so that there’s only a light dusting of powder. Like with liquid foundation, apply the foundation in a circular motion, starting from your inner cheek and moving outwards.
