Really more like 3.5 stars, but so much better than most competition (including other items from this brand) that I'm willing to round up rather than down. The compartments are well-made and could probably withstand microwaving, but the lids are very flimsy and I wouldn't chance heating them. They deform slightly even in hot water when I hand-wash them. Since I like to put the cover on very loosely when I microwave things, I don't use this set to pack anything I'd like to heat. The freezer pack is effective and will keep your lunch cold for hours in an insulated bag, even without refrigeration. The containers do leak a bit, so I don't recommend them for very juicy salads/sauces, like Italian dressing or a tomato salad. They will hold yogurt or cottage cheese, though. The bottom section of the large container is more shallow than I would like. It holds just two slices of broad thick bread, a thin sandwich made with broad thin bread, or a thick sandwich made with broad, very thin bread. But you can put your sandwich contents in the smaller containers (which are quite generous if you don't get bread or involved) and put it together that way. All in all, still not a great improvement over the square Glad containers and a freezer brick for most sandwiches, but okay for a narrow range of selected semi-dry items that you need to keep cold. Definitely better than most of the products that include customized or built-in freezer packs.

I love these containers! I bring a salad to work nearly every day and these containers are simply the best there is. The main container is large enough to fit a complete salad and two of the smaller containers (I don't use the ice pack because there is a fridge at my work). I use the smaller containers for protein and cucumbers/tomatoes. Lettuce, olives, etc. go in the larger container. When I combine all the ingredients and take out the smaller containers there is plenty of room to shake the salad with the dressing. The whole system is the perfect size. The only negative is that the smaller containers warp slightly and the lids are a little difficult to get on, but it is not too bad.

I pack my lunch everyday for work and have always found it annoying that I have to bring 4 or 5 containers. I recently went on a diet and was really struggling to have enough time in the morning to measure each item so that I packed a healthy portion. Then I actually found this product in a bargain bin at Ross. It is perfect! The small containers tell you on the side how many ounces/cups you've put in them. I freeze the ice pack every night and have no trouble fitting everything back inside in the morning. Plus, the combined container fits perfectly in my purse so I don't have to worry about carrying an extra bag into work. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my Lunch-On-The-Go and plan on purchasing more items from Fit & Fresh.
