I am so thrilled with this product. It contains both matrixyl (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3) *and* argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3) two ingredients that are so hot in skincare right now. In my understanding, the former (matrixyl), interacts with skin cells to build collagen from within. The latter (argireline), supposedly reduces muscle tension/contraction to act as a "botox-lite." A lot of WAY more expensive products are touting only one of these ingredients at a time--this product puts them to work in unison. To be honest, although I have only been using this product for a week, my lines are SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. I am talking bye-bye crow's feet, baby! All in all, I hope this product NEVER goes away because I am looking forward to even better results with continued use. The package claims that the serum's "technology": Relieves facial tension Visibly reduces DEEP wrinkles by up to 27% Improves skin HYDRATION to MOISTRURIZE and restore ELASTICITY Enhances skin FIRMNESS It has done all these things. (Well, i haven't measured the percentage of wrinkle-depth, but I am guessing). The recommendation on the package is to massage the serum into the face & neck. I am only using it on wrinkled areas, and am massaging it in deeply. I'm trying to find a zinc oxide-based sunscreen to layer over it, because I'm worried about chemical sunscreen ingredients interacting with the serum! All in all, I have found nothing that has visibly reduced my crow's feet in the past. This product is probably not going to do what botox would, but I am very satisfied for once with a topical wrinkle-reducing measure. I highly recommend it for those "afraid of the needle" but needing some help! As a final note, it is very reasonably priced. THANKS Desert Essence!
