This seems like just the right cinnamon capsule as called for in the studies. Good value.

The second review is the correct one to consider. It is in fact cinnamonum verum that is best for treating blood sugar levels. This is known as "true cinnamon", grown in Ceylon. It is not the same as what you see on the grocery store shelves. Casia cinn. grown in Indonesia does contain good compounds that lower high blood sugar, but also contains a TOXIC compound called "coumarin". Best to use cinnamonum verum as shown here being sold by Now.

I applaud the prior reviewer for knowing about the 2 different kinds of cinnamon, however he/she got it precisely backwards. Ceylon is the "good" one, cassia is the cheaper alternative (found in many of the foods you eat), and is linked to head aches when too much is consumed at once. NOW is among the best vitamin brands out there (Source Naturals being the other), and this product was specifically recommended by our naturopath, Dr. Alan Tillotson (author of the "One Earth Herbal Sourcebook")
