I have used Cholesta-lo for approximately 3 months. When I started taking Cholesta-lo, my total cholestrol was 221. My cholestrol was taken 3 months later and it was 211. So this product does work. My results my have been better if I had cut some of the saturated fat out of my diet. One thing I discovered about this product though, if you take it after eating a light meal; you may develop a slight skin flush usually somewhere in the face. This my last up to a minute or so and is only slightly uncomfortable. However, if you take this product with a fatty meal, there does not seem to be any side effects.

I'm a 40 year old male and I've have tried several highly proclaimed holistic supplements in an attempt to curb my high cholesterol. Cholesta-Lo was touted to be one of the few that actually worked. It does work, but not without it's effects. I know that our chemistry's vary and that the side effects will be different from person to person. Cholesta-Lo claims to use odorless garlic. Not true, breath smells distinctly like garlic after taking one of these, comes up from the stomach. Some of the unpleasant side effects include: Stomach will churn and gurgle for hours if you eat ice cream. Milk is not as noticable, but cottage cheese is a problem too. Headaches... I've experienced similar left and right side headaches with this as I did Lipitor. Sex drive and libido is diminished considerably. Just like Lipitor, Cholesta-Lo almost completely diminishes my sex drive and provides me an undesirable erectile dysfunction. Not to mention the persistent prostate irritation and burning in the urethra. I quite taking Cholesta-Lo and all problems ceased. Tried them again 2 weeks later and same problems returned. I think I gave the product a fair chance.
