The product was advertised as Vitamin D. It was actually Vitamin D and Vitamin A. The dosage of Vitamin A is potentially dangerous.

Quoting Jonathan V Wright in Nov 2003 "Nutrition and Healing": "the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published an article re-examining the upper limits of vitamin D safety, 2,000 IU daily, is 'too low by at least 5-fold.' Instead, they suggested that 10,000 IU daily might be a better 'safe upper limit.'" This brand is probably a good one. Derivation from fish liver oil is better than a synthetic process.

This is to discredit the one star who wrote: Why Do Vitamin Manufacturers Overdose Their Customers??, I wish I could copy and paste the article that Dr. John Jacob Cannell, wrote, but at least you can read it by going to this site: (...) Here is what I copied and pasted from the Harvard: Optimal Intake: The current recommended intake of vitamin D is 5 micrograms up to age 50, 10 micrograms between the ages of 51 and 70, and 15 micrograms after age 70. Optimal intakes are higher, though, with 25 micrograms (1000 IU) recommended for those over age 2. Very few foods naturally contain vitamin D. Good sources include dairy products and breakfast cereals (which are fortified with vitamin D), and fatty fish such as salmon and tuna. For most people, the best way to get the recommended daily intake is by taking a multivitamin, but the level in most multivitamins (10 micrograms) is too low.
