Using bobby pins to style your hair
Bobby pins are as useful as they are versatile. In that past, it was considered poor taste to have bobby pins showing in your hair style as they were mainly meant to strengthen the style and keep it in place. However, decorative bobby pins are meant to be worn as a visible hair accessory.
If you are using bobby pins to secure an updo, a helpful tip is to select small bobby pins with ridges that will grip your locks for a better hold. Using small bobby pins will also make them easier to hide within the updo. Steer clear of bigger bobby pins with smooth sides as these are primarily meant to be used to keep rollers in place.
There are many ways to use decorative bobby pins in a loose hair style. You can place them on both sides of your head, nearest to the top, to isolate your bangs from the rest of your hair. You can also take two or three bobby pins and sweep one side of your hair above your ear for a simple and easy style. Hair comb clip often come with built-in bobby pins, but it may not be enough to secure the piece. Use additional bobby pins underneath the flower to make sure it will hold.
