I admit, I don't use this on my lips . . . but I use it every day as a rosy cheek stain. It's easy to dip my finger in the pot and then gently smooth it onto the apples of my cheeks. You only need a tiny bit, so one pot lasts forever. Its easier to manage than the very-spillable original Benetint, and it goes where you want to. Long lasting, too! Now, conversely, if used as a lip balm, I cannot imagine applying it with your fingers. To get noticeable color, shine, and moisture, you'd be best using a lip brush. Benefit is slowly perfecting Benetint: 1) The original stain is difficult to apply because of the bottle, the brush, and the danger of spilling. 2) The pocket pal attempts to help make the liquid tint more portable and manageable. However, it fails, as it is still easy to spill and the gloss part is thick, sticky, messy, and doesn't go on smoothly. 3) The balm has gotten rid of the unpredictable liquid, but there's no truly good way to apply it without having to carry a lip brush in your purse. The final, perfect result after all these incarnations would be a Benetint lip balm in stick form. I anxiously await the day they "invent" that!
