Their major ingredients were rum and leaves and berries of the West Indian bay tree. With its increase in popularity you now find Bay Rum aftershaves or shaving soaps as well. They are now quite popular and are used all across America and Europe. A lot of people who use this scent swear by it and find it one of the best in the world. The closest I could get to describing this scent would be to combine a clove/cinnamon-ish smell to a vanilla-ish one and you could have something close to what Bay Rum smells like. Bay Rum does vary a little from brand to brand but you’d know when it is used thanks to its distinct smell.
Bay Rum based colognes have been around for quite a while now and it is a scent that most men have taken to. Most men who’ve used it have always stuck with it for a long time. Once again the scent does vary a bit from brand to brand. Among the brands that offer the Bay Rum scent, Burt’s Bees happen to be quite a popular pick.
